About

Wife, mother, and avid reader C.J. Holthaus was raised in Northwest Missouri on six hundred and fourty acres of pure scenery. Growing up on a family farm, she acquired a love for both nature and horses at an early age. Today she raieses American Quarter Horses and Appaloosas as a hobby; she's happy to tell virtually anyone about it at the slightest opportunity. In her free time she likes to visit family and friends with her husband David and their two sons Caelum and Vesper. When reading for pleasure, Mrs. Holthaus enjoys Stieg Larsson, Haruki Murakami, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Marilynne Robinson, Rainbow Rowell, J.K. Rowling, Neil Gaiman, Zadie Smith, Margaret Atwood, and Jane Austen.

After graduating from North Harrison R-III in Eagleville, Missouri Mrs. Holthaus attended Northwest Missouri State University where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Education in 2011 & earned her Master of Arts in English in 2012. She has previously served as Dual-Credit instructor for Wentworth Military Academy, North Central Missouri College, and Missouri Valley Community College and currently serves as an adjunct instructor for Northwest Missouri State University in addition to her Albany teaching duties. Holthaus was honored to serve on the DESE Item Validation & Standard Setting Panel for the Missouri Educator Gateway Assessments Speech & Theater examinations and currently teaches English II, Speech, D.C. Composition, ACT Prep, & Yearbook for Albany R-III.
